About Us

Freeman Linderman Lekey was born in the vibrant city of Arusha, Tanzania. He later ventured to Canada to pursue a Civil Engineering degree, trading the warm embrace of Tanzania’s landscapes for the icy -40°C winters of Saskatoon. Despite his time abroad, Freeman returned home every year to reconnect with his roots—family, nature, and culture.

After graduating and meeting his lifelong partner, Donna, Freeman began sharing Tanzania’s wonders with her, from its breathtaking landscapes to its rich traditions. Their connection to the land deepened when Freeman proposed in a hot air balloon over the Serengeti, creating an unforgettable moment in the heart of nature.

Their destination wedding in Arusha brought friends and family to Tanzania, sparking unforgettable experiences—some scaled Mount Kilimanjaro, others 
relaxed on Zanzibar’s white sands, and all were touched by the culture, wildlife, and beauty of the country. Seeing their joy and deep connection to Tanzania inspired Freeman to share these transformative experiences with the world.

Roberto’s lifelong passion for Africa, its wildlife, and its people led him on a remarkable journey. Though his early dream was to become a veterinarian, he pursued a career in Information Technology. Yet, Africa always called to him. His first safari in Tanzania was transformative falling in love with the landscapes, abundant wildlife, and welcoming people, Roberto knew he had found his true home.

In Tanzania, he met Greyson, a kindred spirit, and together they founded Savannah Explorers, a partner company to Explore Unlimited, with a shared mission to deliver personalized, sustainable, and unforgettable safari experiences. Moving to Arusha with his family, Roberto turned his passion into purpose.

Roberto’s Mission - Through Savannah Explorers and Explore Unlimited, Roberto and Greyson invite travelers to discover the magic of Africa, crafting journeys that inspire connection, adventure, and respect for the land.

Born at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, Greyson grew up immersed in the beauty of Tanzania’s landscapes, wildlife, and communities. His lifelong passion for nature and sustainable tourism led him to partner with Roberto, making their shared vision a reality.

Together, they founded Savannah Explorers, delivering expertly curated safaris, trekking expeditions, and beach holidays across Tanzania and East Africa. Their dedication expanded further with the creation of unique accommodations, including Ngorongoro Marera Mountain View Lodge and Serengeti Kifaru Lodge in 2020. By 2025, they will add two more lodges: Serengeti Orangi River Luxury Lodge, a 5-star retreat within Serengeti National Park, and Arusha Explorers Lodge, designed to welcome travelers on arrival.

Greyson’s Mission - Through Explore Unlimited, Greyson aims to offer travelers authentic and unforgettable experiences. From traditional safaris and mountain trekking to cultural journeys guided by local experts, each adventure is thoughtfully designed to connect guests with Tanzania’s natural beauty and vibrant culture. Greyson and his team cater to travelers from around the world, tailoring programs to create memories that last a lifetime.
